Dr. Jones has been active in the World Equine Veterinary Association (WEVA) since in inception in 1980. In 2001, Dr. Jones was appointed as Secretary/Treasurer of WEVA, but is now retired.

Lay Veterinary Articles Published

1975-1978 As editor of The Arabian Horse News Dr. Jones wrote many articles relating to veterinary care and breeding of Arabian horses.

1979-1980 As editor of Horse & Rider, Dr. Jones wrote a veterinary-related article each month, and edited the other material published.

1978-1979 Dr. Jones wrote a monthly veterinary care syndicated column, called “The Stable Pharmacy,” This series was carried by approximately 30 horse magazines during this time.

1981-1992 Dr. Jones wrote a monthly article on veterinary care of horses for The Horsemen’s Journal. He continued for a decade, contributing monthly, through five different editors, until the demise of the magazine.

1986, Dr. Jones was asked by the editor of The Appaloosa Journal to write a series of 10 articles on Appaloosa Color Inheritance, published monthly.

1988, with the first issue of The Quarter Racing Journal, later The American Quarter Horse Racing Journal, Dr. Jones wrote a monthly column on Equine Sports Medicine.
