Cynthia Lamb

Cynthia Lamb was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey, the area around which her maternal line has inhabited for three centuries. She is a direct descendant of Deborah Leeds, the main character of her novel and alleged mother of the Jersey Devil.

Brigid's Charge was a Benjamin Franklin Award finalist for fiction and its audio version was a finalist for ForeWord's Audio Book of the Year. Her essay "The Black Dog" was published in the anthology Irish Spirit: Essays on Irish Spirituality (Wolfhound Press, 2001).

While writing Brigid's Charge, Cynthia worked as a caregiver for people with AIDS.
