Patrick Gallagher

Patrick Gallagher (1935- ) was born and grew up in Ridgway, Pennsylvania. He attended Penn State and Carnegie Mellon University, earning a PhD in Chemistry. After a short, unrewarding attempt at university teaching he began a career in industrial chemistry and engineering research, completing his career with many years in the defense industry research and materials engineering. He has lived in California since 1983. For over twenty years he has been active as an English language haiku poet and editor. He is presently engaged in book design and publishing for a number of haiku societies and his own firm, Green Isles Press. The Bay Area Nature Guide and Saijiki, of which he is a coeditor, is the first of these works to be offered to the general book buying public.
