John Allen Boyd

Biographical Sketch

John Allen Boyd, a Floridian turned Kentuckian in 1956, wrote these stories while living and teaching in Louisville after some years of teaching in Nelson and Warren Counties. Signal poionts in his life include being a teacher of Latin, English, and other subjects - a musician, an Army officer, an orthopedic technician, a common laborer, and a man addicted to reading and writing. He has milked cows, coon hunted, baled hay, worked in tobacco and even in a distillery. Throughout his life he has continued watching the human comedy with fascination and learning about life from all he met - often with warm laughter. These Kentucky stiries reflect his interest.
