Stu Turner

Stu Turner is a systems engineer, engineering professor, and author of the Ham Radio School amateur radio license preparation books. Stu received a B.S. in Physics from the University of Southern Mississippi, a M.S. in Systems Engineering from Wright State University, and a Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Washington. He has broad engineering experience and more than 13 years of professorial experience.

Stu served 20 years as an active duty U.S. Air Force officer during which he piloted the B-52 bomber, performed military R&D, and instructed at the U.S. Air Force Academy. Following his military career, he was employed as a Senior Staff Systems Engineer for Lockheed Martin leading the flight deck displays and controls development for the NASA Orion human space flight vehicle. He subsequently returned to the Air Force Academy in a civilian professor position from which he retired from formal employment in 2022.
