Jay Sennett

Jay Sennett is an award-winning author and filmmaker. He is also the co-founder of Homofactus Press.

"The defining drive in my work has been changing my gender from female to male and an obsession with describing this process in terms larger than "Oh, I changed from female to male" or "I was born this way."

This process colors how I think about the world and the nature of consciousness itself. I am particularly interested in forms of writing that undermine traditional narrative structures. My life has not followed a traditional narrative. I'm foolish enough to believe I can find structures and stories that will describe my own experiences in ways others can understand."
