Patrick [Greig] Scott is Distinguished Professor of English, Emeritus, at the University of South Carolina, where from 1996-2011 he was also director of rare books & special collections for the University's libraries. Most of his writing has been on Victorian poetry and Victorian culture, but he has also written on book history, the history of rhetoric, African literature and Scottish literature. He is currently co-editor for a new series of the journal Studies in Scottish Literature.
