Liam Nevin was born in Ireland in 1951, a native of Maynooth County Kildare. He attended the local primary and secondary schools there. He worked for Aer Lingus at London Heathrow Airport for 25 years. He enjoys travelling and has visited the five continents with his wife Marlene. They live in Shepperton, England. He has two children, Brendan and Pauline, and three grandchildren, Kate, Lynda and Dylan.
He got the idea of writing the "Tobacco Fields of Meath" after researching his family history and discovering a wealth of information left by his grandfather, John Nevin, on the subject of tobacco growing. John Nevin spent over thirty years growing the stuff in Navan, County Meath under the direction of Sir Nugent Everard Bart. Since publishing the book, he has made contact with Sir Harry Everard, the great grandson of Sir Nugent. Both were very pleased with contacting each other and intend to meet later in 2012.
Liam is presently working on the idea of a book about growing up in a small village in Ireland in the 1950's/60's.
