I am a New Zealander passionate about health, life and sport, and work as a Physiotherapist in Central London. I had always wanted to do an Ironman as the greatest physical challenge of my life. By working with a team of coaches, mental conditioning specialist, pilates instructor, massage therapist and bike mechanic, I had an Ironman experience "out of this world". I completed the Switzerland Ironman, and I will never forget the feeling of achievement and euphoria crossing that finish line.
I have written First Time Ironman to give an account of my year of training and encourage First Timers to use an ironman support team, to make the experience richer and guarantee success. My book relives real stories of my experience and has tips for quick action and reference. Dreams can become a reality.
Note: First Time Ironman is not a training manual. It does not have technical information on training. It is a description of my personal journey, from entering the Ironman to crossing the finish line. Readers get an insiders view of Ironman and learn what coaches can do for training and performance. Whether you use One coach or a team of coaches, they make the difference. Read this book to inspire you to do an Ironman.
