I grew up in a depressing and disgusting coal town located in Northeastern Pennsylvania called Wilkes-Barre. The place was sheer death to a creative spirit, local politicians stole every dollar that they could get their grubby hands on, cheating the entire area of any type of past, present or future. Every day was a struggle for food let alone recognition, I read Reader's Digest and concentrated on the " Word Power made Easy " and, " Increase your vocabulary " pages, grooming myself for any possible escape. That came when I enlisted in the U.S.Navy. After being stationed in a few stateside Naval facilities, I was ordered to Vietnam where I served with the infamous " Riverine Force, " on the Mekong River. I was injured there under hostile fire. War changed me, what started out as simple pleasure's, a six pack and a drive in movie, became hard liquor and dark places of the mind. My innocence and teenage years were sacrificed to a war that no one appreciated, nor accepted.
Using my own two hands and the wisdom of hard streets, I managed to pay for college and university degree's. These opened the doors to my stifled expression. I established Alchemy Studio, Inc. in 1970, after I returned from Vietnam, broken. I have been operating this small business ever since, specializing in Art, Design and fine literary works. The books you will see here reflect those years of growth and experience, you can taste bohemian poetry. a brutally honest autobiography, or the adult stories that came from a life lived extremely large and always with a pressing need of purpose.
