T Christopher Byrd

At eight years old, T. Christopher Byrd (Chris) began writing stories and reading them aloud to his third-grade class, sparking a passion for storytelling that, unfortunately, wasn’t encouraged. As he grew older, his focus shifted toward lifting weights, training in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, and boxing. Still, his imagination never stopped crafting stories and scenarios.

His younger sister’s interest in filmmaking rekindled his own creative spark, leading him to write several screenplays. Yet, like many writers, he discovered the biggest challenge wasn’t creating stories but getting agents or producers to read them. During that time, he began developing The Battles of Thrae. With little progress in pitching his ideas, he embraced the saying, “If you want something done, you have to do it yourself,” and turned to self-publishing.

While still dreaming of a film version, Chris wrote a prequel to The Battles of Thrae and soon followed with a second book. This was in 2012. After modest success, he stepped away for a while, focusing on family life. Though the third book in his planned trilogy was paused, his passion never faded.

Years later, he redesigned the covers and relaunched his efforts to promote the series. Through setbacks and long breaks, one thing has remained constant: T. Christopher Byrd’s drive to bring The Battles of Thrae—and other great stories—to life.
