Paul S. Rosenbloom

Paul S. Rosenbloom is an Emeritus Professor of Computer Science at the University of Southern California (USC) and was before he retired the Director of Cognitive Architecture Research at USC's Institute for Creative Technologies. He spent twenty years at USC's Information Sciences Institute, including a decade leading new directions and a stint as Deputy Director. Earlier he was an Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Psychology at Stanford University, and a Research Computer Scientist at Carnegie Mellon University. His professional interests have focused on cognitive architecture – the fixed structures underlying intelligent behavior, and their integration, in both natural and artificial systems – on understanding the nature and structure of computing as a great scientific domain, and on understanding broadly the fields, systems, and techniques found in artificial intelligence (AI), cognitive science, and cognitive architecture.
