Mark Elley

Mark Elley (b. 1948) was born and raised in Ontario, Canada. He studied and received degrees in history and education at the University of Western Ontario in London. He furthered his education at the University of Texas at San Antonio. He was a successful educator for 38 years and a championship aquatics coach for 39 years in both Canada and the United States.

He has begun a series of John Doyle mysteries based on true stories and events that took place in the late 1960’s and the 1970’s. He will take us on John’s journey from a late teenager through his working years as he takes on the world of crime as an undercover investigator including drugs, murder, the IRA and jewel thieves.

Mark has a wife, Lynda of 50 years and one daughter. He and his wife travel extensively in the British Isles and Europe. His research for the books he writes began with journals of these journeys, some dating back to the early seventies.

Mark has had articles on swimming, outdoor education and gifted education published in various educational journals. His latest work was an article published in October ’11 in ‘Our Canada’ magazine, “Hot off the Presses” and several articles in the Sun Rays magazine.

He now resides in Georgetown, Texas where he cycles, swims, writes and attends his church.
