M.C. Hampton

Maybelle C. Hampton was born in Adamson, Oklahoma. She is the ninth child of parents that had eleven children. She grew up in Phoenix, Arizona but her home now is Los Angeles, California were she moved with her daughters in 1972.

She has worked as a secretary, word processing instructor and as an administrative assistant. She attended Los Angeles Community College, majoring in journalism. She worked for the City of North Las Vegas Fire Department, Los Angeles Unified School District and the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA). She is now retired and would like to try her hand at writing, something that she has desired to do for years.

She began writing in 1972 when she won 2nd place in a writing contest for a local newspaper. She also had some of her poems published in a small journal. Her writing was put on hold due to the fact that she was raising five daughters alone. After that feat was accomplished, she then concentrated on raising six granddaughters. Now, it's her turn to do what she has always wanted to do, write.

The first and second of her three novels, Wildcat and the sequel, Wildcat, Book Two: Dark Fury, has been published. She is preparing to have her last book that is untitled (and maybe more books) published in the near future.
