M Kent Travis

These "bios" are usually written in third person. I'm not going to do that. Sounds off to me, especially since I'm writing it for myself.

My name is Kent Travis. I'm a Christ-follower. I'm a husband and father. I'm a friend. I'm a teacher at The Brook Hill School in Bullard, Texas, where I run the Humanities Department, edit the yearbook, edit a biannual student magazine, and coordinate summer camps. I have a couple of degrees, a Bachelor of Arts from Stephen F. Austin State University and a Master of Humanities from the University of Dallas.

On the side, I'm also a part-time youth director/coordinator at my church. I'm an occasional Sunday school teacher, an occasional counselor, an occasional coach.

Hobbies? Often, I play guitar, write, throw Frisbees and golf discs, and read books--loads of graphic novels, short stories and novels, and sundry theological books. I sometimes ride a skateboard. Lately, I ride bicycles as often as I can.

As for "what I write," well, that's varied. I write some poetry, essays, and short stories. I have also written stories for children.

Yeah, I know. This doesn't tell you much of who I am. Check out my website for pieces of the continuing saga as I try to think things through.
