The juxtaposition that is Daisy Rain Martin stems from being born and raised in a show business family in the bright lights of Las Vegas while trying to navigate her way out of an abusive, ultra-conservative, religious home. As soon as she could legally break free, she sought life outside the reach of the glittering excess, the harsh dogma, and the dreaded memories, intending never to return. Daisy rolled the dice in a coastal, southern California town where she earned her bachelor's degree in Sociology at Vanguard University, a private, Christian school. Believing she brought that Vegas luck with her, she bet it all and traveled clear across the country where she was dealt a losing hand she never expected. Lady Luck embraced her prodigal daughter as she made her way back home. This time a single mom with a toddler to raise by herself, Daisy took charge of her life. While slinging drinks by day, she earned a masters degree in education by night and went on to teach English and composition in the inner city. The odds are now solidly in her favor. Her joy is excessive, her dogma is gentle, and her memories are sweet. Ah, Las Vegas.
Since inhibition can't be found anywhere in this great city, Daisy unabashedly confesses all that she has stared down and leaves her readers free to find redemption in their own journeys and the bright and dazzling lights on the marquees of their own lives. She will celebrate with her readers because she's the girl who certainly knows how--Vegas-style. With her husband, Sean, and teenage son, Geoff, laughter abounds in the Martin home. This family of three, (plus one dog), enjoys camping and fly fishing in the outdoors surrounded by... uh... Daisy believes they're called trees. They also love traveling to new places with cooler temps and dreaming of all the immeasurable possibilities.
