Jordi Torres

Jordi Torres is a professor of Computer Architecture at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), where he has trained generations of engineers for over 35 years. He teaches subjects on high-performance computing (HPC), artificial intelligence (AI), and their intersection. Author of 200+ scientific publications and several books on HPC and AI, he joined the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) as part of its founding team and led a research group in the Computer Science Department. He is currently a senior researcher and Expert Advisor in HPC and AI at BSC. His latest book, Supercomputing for Artificial Intelligence, bridges theory and practice to show how today’s large AI models are trained and deployed on cutting-edge supercomputers.
