Michael Hughes was born in Vancouver, Canada in 1949, the son of a prominent broadcaster who was proficient in filmmaking as well as many other audio and visual technologies. Michael grew up learning not only the hands-on technology of filmmaking, but also the intellectual skills required to plan a production and see it through to a completed project.
As a young man Michael worked in radio, television and audio visual production houses. His occupation for the last 30+ years, in his own private business, has revolved around producing highly creative corporate and industrial video projects. Michael's other background in adult education has allowed him to be a teacher of filmmaking at various colleges and film schools throughout the last 40 years.
Michael is still working on corporate films and documentaries, his part-time teaching career - and now as an author.
He feels that a well-crafted video production must incorporate a balanced combination of creative artistic representation, solid content structure and technical proficiency.
