Christa Mackinnon (MSc Psych DFC PgDhyp DipITEC)

I see myself as Modern Medicine Woman and psycho-spiritual shamanic teacher.

Previously a psychologist, family counsellor and clinical hypnotherapist, I worked as an acclaimed international trainer, lecturer and therapist for over 25years, holding an Honorary Fellowship at Exeter University, Medical School.

I was, as long as I can remember, fascinated by questions about human consciousness, by altered states of perception, eastern philosophies and indigenous wisdom traditions. This has led me to train with and apprentice to spiritual / shamanic teachers and mentors worldwide.

Now I combine ancient psycho-spiritual teachings, especially shamanism, with the contemporary therapeutic. I write extensively about this, speak at conferences and facilitate training courses for therapeutic professionals.

I am also the co-founder of 'Women Weaving Change' - a training school for Modern Medicine Women, where we run training courses and workshops for women. I also facilitate a variety of shamanic workshops, courses and events in the UK, and facilitate workshops and courses for women.

My next book will be about the feminine, which I feel needs to come to the fore if we want to accomplish the changes the world so desperately needs.
