Samori Augusto

Samori Augusto, author of "Cold War Dogs" and an upcoming non-fiction book about Angola and South African Apartheid, was born in Washington, D.C., but was almost immediately whisked away to Africa, where he grew up in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania, and Luanda, Angola. In Africa and eastern Europe, Samori grew up a Pan-African nationalist and a communist/socialist, until returning to the US for the rest of high school, college, and graduate school. "Cold War Dogs" was his first novel, although he has published a few short stories in various genres. Samori has a lot more African stories and African characters accumulated from years of hanging around revolutionaries, freedom fighters, and proud believers in the international black spirit.
