I enjoy "old school" pulp and private eye fiction. My series private eye is Frank Swiver, whose noir adventures take place 65-70 years ago in San Francisco. My first story, "The Tall Blonde with the Hot Boiler," written on a beach vacation in 2009, appeared in the Black Mask section of the Jan. 2011 issue of Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine. Frank's next adventure, "Ice," appeared in the Sept.-Oct. 2012 issue of EQMM, also Black Mask. A third short story in the series, "The Road Les Traveled" was in the August 2013 issue of EQMM.

I've also written two novels about Frank, White with Fish, Red with Murder, and Last Puffs, (published Jan. 2018), a daring tale of war, love, revenge, betrayal, and murder.

I was born in Cleveland, the last year the Indians won the world series. After growing up in Shaker Heights, I attended Hiram College and spent my junior year at Elphinstone College, Bombay University. My B.A. is in English lit, and now that I'm gainfully retired from work, I'm a full-time writer. My wife and I live in Maryland, where we raised two children. My passions are writing, reading, my family, peace, Italian cars, and I share P.I. Frank Swiver's love of California wine.
