Jo Hess

Jo Hess, born in 1974 in Landshut, has lived a life that couldn't be more eventful – and that intensity is exactly what you'll find in her thrillers. Her career has taken her from the police force to the fashion industry, a tattoo studio, the world of real estate, and even the Oktoberfest. She has lived in New Zealand and America, appeared in films and TV series, and collected the most diverse people and stories along the way.

Jo Hess writes thrillers that keep you up at night. During the day, she's (almost) perfectly normal. At night, she plots murders.

Today she lives near Landshut, eats too many burgers, and finds herself wondering about every neighbor – what are they really up to?

Her thrillers are set in Bavaria. Because Bavaria is beautiful. And because there's no better place to hide a body than somewhere that looks completely idyllic.

When she's not killing anyone – on paper, at least – she works as the founder and instructor of the Thriller-Werkstatt, guiding people who are finally ready to write their own story.
