I've been a Drupal developer and architect for over a decade, and a software developer, in general, for several decades. That said, I didn't originally intend to have a career in computer science, hence the name of my blog, the Accidental Coder. Having had no career guidance while in high school, when it came time to decide what I wanted to be, I thought that having enjoyed my chemistry set and also being an animal lover (having had about every type of pet possible) biochemistry seemed a good direction.
In my freshman year, my roommate noted one day that I was suffering through chemistry, but was acing computer science without studying. That began the momentum that led to my learning a half a dozen or so programming languages by the time I graduated, and launching my career writing back-office applications in mnemonic assembler. My move to Drupal was equally accidental, and here I am today.
