Jim Cherry

Jim Cherry was born and raised in Chicago during the 60's although, he missed all the cool stuff. He has always had an eye to being a writer spending his 20’s in the pursuit of experience visiting places as New Orleans, Los Angeles, Germany, France and Mexico, especially when he didn't have the money. Jim now resides in the western suburbs of Chicago.

Jim has written the novels Becoming Angel, The Last Stage, and the currently unpublished The Third Day. Two books of short stories Stranger Souls and The Lion Communique. Jim has also had poems published in various poetry volumes. Jim's unpublished novel The Third Day has had excerpts published in Literary Garage, Well Read Magazine (as well as in their best of the year 2025), and a short story, The Captured Dead in the anthology, The Astral Pages: Ghosts, Galaxies and Magical Realism, edited by Bill Ectric.

In the past Jim wrote The Doors Examiner from which came The Doors Examined which has become touchstone resource for fans of The Doors. Jim has written the forewords to the books The Doors FAQ by Rich Weidman, and Gazing into the Abyss: The Poetry of Jim Morrison by William Cook, and influenced the book Roadhouse Blues: Morrison, The Doors and the Death Days of the 60's.
