Joan Reid

Joan Reid is the author of Girl's It's Time For A Change: The Girls Guide To Puberty. This book was initially written as a gift for her daughter. Joan couldn't find a book that gave a holistic approach to the subject of puberty, without it being too simplistic or being a scientific text book.

Joan is a microbiologist and wanted to discuss the science of puberty, understanding the menstrual cycle, how hormones play an essential role in a girl's development in an easy and informal way that was engaging, educating and empowering.

After reading it, Joan's daughter encouraged her to make her gift accessible for all and so Girls It's Time For A Change:The Girls Guide to Puberty came into being. She relayed that she was humbled to receive the Physical Development For Girls Award, November 2016 in Amsterdam Holland. Joan also received the Girls Education and Empowerment Award, September 2017 in London. Girls It's Time For A Change: The Girls Guide to Puberty has also been translated into Spanish and is also available on Amazon.

Aside from being an author and Microbiologist Joan is a Sexual Health Promotional Speaker, her interactive Seminar "It Started With A Kiss" takes the individual on a journey that engages, educates, empowers and enables the participate to understand how Sexual transmitted diseases can affect their lives, that it is 100% preventable and with this knowledge they can make and educated and informed choice when choosing and entering into sexual relationships.
