Joe Petterle

Joe Petterle is an avid reader, writer, student of western and eastern philosophy, ardent collector of all types of music, and author of non-fiction books and articles.

In his previous life Dr. Petterle was a nationally recognized educator who, beginning with one Northern California high school subsequently brought his message of hope and belief in the human spirit to the reform efforts of over 300 mostly inner-city schools nationwide.

Known for his undying optimism, and "get down in the trenches" approach to improving schools, he has received Presidential recognition and well as numerous honors and awards for his work. But his greatest joy, he will tell you, comes from witnessing the success of the students whose lives he touched through the schools he helped change.

Joe Petterle resides in Northern California pursuing his many and varied interests. He splits his time between the quick pace of the city and the solitude of his mountain cabin where he does most of his writing.
