Mark Stevens is the Author of "When God Hides His Face" a handbook dealing with grief, suicide, and PTSD. A victim of PTSD himself, having served 23 years in the USAF in Combat Mobility Units as an Airfield Manager and Satellite Radio Operator. He served in Somalia, Desert Storm, Panama, Honduras, Turkey, Syria, Jordan, and Egypt. I chose to develop this thesis to assist people that minister to the sick, the dying, and the people that have been affected by the careless words and insensitivity of others. I have experienced pain and tragedy in my own personal life and as a Hospital Chaplain and Prison Minister I have seen my fair share of pain. I spent 23 years in the Air Force and I have seen the effects of war and death.
He is a Staff Chaplain at Ancora Psychiatric Hospital and an On-Call Chaplain at Cooper Trauma Center. Mark Stevens graduated from the Institute of Jewish Studies, a school of the Philadelphia Bible University. He is an ETA (Evangelical Training Association) certified Bible Teacher. He holds a BA in Theology and an MA in Ministry from Freedom Bible College and Seminary, and has recently completed his Doctorate in Theology from Freedom. He has completed four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) at Cooper Trauma Center. He completed Psych Rehab Certification Training at UMDNJ. He is also Certified in CISM and is a member of the Cooper CIRT (Crisis Intervention Response Team).
Mark Stevens is a highly decorated retired MSgt in the USAF. He has served in Combat Operations in Somalia, Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Honduras, Turkey, Korea, and Morocco. . Prior to accepting the call to ministry Elder Stevens was a Martial Arts (Tang Soo Do) instructor. He is presently establishing a Bible Institute named NJITS (NJ Institute of Theological Studies)
