Charles Parrish

Dr. Charlie Parrish is a Professor and School Director in the College of Business at Western Carolina University (North Carolina, USA). His primary research interests include the management of sport venues and soccer/football in the global market. He has authored over 20 peer reviewed journal articles and presented research at industry and academic conferences.

Dr. Parrish's co-edited book (with Dr. John Nauright) 'Sports Around the World: History, Culture, and Practice' (ABC-Clio) was selected for the 2012 Best Reference award by the Library Journal. His co-authored book (with Dr. John Nauright) 'Soccer Around the World: A Cultural Guide to the World's Favorite Sport' (ABC-Clio) was released in April 2014. Dr. Parrish also published 'Sport in Latin America: Policy, organization, management' (Routledge) with colleagues Dr. Gonzalo Bravo and Dr. Rosa Lopez de D'Amico in February 2016 ahead of the Rio Summer Olympics.
