Marian Blake

Marian Blake was born in one of the last years of the baby boom in the railway town of Swindon, UK and is the last of 3 sisters. Although reading was a great way to ignore her sisters when young, unlike many people, the urge to write has been a recent thing. She is still best friends with her sisters.

Trained in the UK as an Optometrist and having her own practice in the UK for 18 years, Marian moved to France in 2004 with her husband and 2 dogs in a RV (camper van) and ended up in the beautiful Dordogne. The reason - to retire early. This plan has not turned out as planned but has led to a little more spare time - so she now has time to quilt, embroider, paint old furniture and of course - write.

Her first book is a book on Homemade Shampoos and there will be others in this series, and she has just started her first novel.

What does she like to read?

Anything from Shakespeare to Mills and Boon, war and Peace to westerns via biographies and Sci-Fi. The Kindle has been a God send as she can dip into her favorite books at will without giving herself a hernia carrying them!
