David W. Johnson

David W. Johnson is a former journalist and professor who writes about American music. His current book is The Life and Music of Booker "Bukka" White: Recalling the Blues (2024). His first is Lonesome Melodies: The Lives and Music of the Stanley Brothers (2013). The University Press of Mississippi published both. Recalling the Blues is a finalist for a research award.
