Ty Gray-EL

Ty GrayEL is known as the Minister of Poetry. He is an internationally renowned storyteller/spoken word artist. He is CEO of TyGrayEL,LLC and the founder of Breath of My Ancestors Ministries, a Cultural Enrichment Ministry.

Ty earned a B.S. in Streetology from the District of Columbia, a Master's Degree in Survival in the Ghettos of North America and a Ph.D. in Psyche-ology from the University of Adversity and Hard Knocks.

While some may laugh at Ty's academic achievements, because he was once labeled ineducable, he is as proud of his accomplishments as anyone holding degrees from Howard, Harvard or Yale. He is an author, activist, spoken.word poet, husband, proud father of four and servant minister at LifeQuest Urban Outreach in Grand Rapids Michigan.

Folk say Ty is the vessel through which our ancestors speak and his presentations are a slice of lecture, a slice of poetry and a slice of theater that all come together like grandma's sweet potato pie.
