Jeanne Ulrich is grateful to be living the dream; with work, home, and family in the Pacific Northwest. She has sailed the San Juan Islands, ridden her motorcycle on beautiful backcountry roads, and had the privilege of visiting many of the parks featured in the GORP Trail Mix cookbook. Jeanne has had the pleasure of working this past year in an environment that cherishes our relationship with the outdoors, which inspired her to write this book to share her gourmet GORP recipes. Cooking up batches of GORP to share with friends and family who are pursuing their personal outdoor adventures has been a wonderful highlight to her life.
Jeanne is currently pursuing a master's degree from the State University of New York's Institute of Technology. Prior work has included marketing management for mobile telecommunications, most recently as a communications manager with JDSU. Earlier in her career, Jeanne worked at Merrill Lynch as a Certified Financial Manager.
This book features favorite gourmet GORP recipes and beautiful National Park Service Photos. A portion of the proceed are cycling back to organizations that are leading the stewardship movement to educate, maintain, and preserve our great outdoors. The 2012 recipient of the cookbook proceeds is the Big City Mountaineers (BCM). BCM serve under-resourced urban teens through transformative outdoor experiences to enrich lives, broaden horizons and instill critical life skills.
