Michael F. Spratt

Michael F. Spratt, Ph.D., is the co-founder, director and proprietor of Destiny Bay Wines on Waiheke Island, New Zealand. Before entering the wine industry, he built a career in global business consulting as a partner with PwC, Mercer Consulting Group and Hay Management Consultants, advising organisations around the world on leadership and organisational change. He holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley.

He is a former President of the Waiheke Winegrowers Association and served for three years on the Board of New Zealand Winegrowers, representing more than 600 boutique producers.

Michael is also the author of Grape-A-Hol and Five Frogs on a Log. His latest book, Forged in Fire, tells the remarkable true story of how one family’s improbable dream helped redefine what New Zealand wine could become.
