Norena Soumakis

Norena Soumakis is a former high school English teacher on Long Island, New York. She was in graduate school at NYU when she met her husband Louis, who was born in Greece. Norena took her numerous and humorous mishaps in dealing with the Greek culture and her many trips to Greece and turned all of these into two books in her series about the famous detective Gero Peerooney. The first book is entitled "The Greek Graffiti Murders;" the second is "Murder at the Olive Oil Factory."

The next two in the private eye series lead him to greater heights: "Murder at Valtaki Cove" was followed by the outstanding "Mystery at the Foul Fowl Farm." Now she has written a prequel to the series. a novel about how the famous Greek detective meets his wife in New York, and they move to Sparta, Greece; it is entitled "Going Against Traffic," and the detective will soon be featured in the next mystery about a murder on a wild boar hunt in "The Avenger's Wild Boar Hunt," sixth in the series. Also, soon to be added is the newest book, "The Blue Box Murder."
