Dr Shara Cohen is a former scientist with over 35 years of experience as a researcher, lecturer, and science communicator. She has been recognised with fellowships from leading scientific institutions for her scientific contributions and was awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM) for her work supporting people with cancer and advancing the role of women in science.

Shara is the founder of several impactful initiatives, including Cancer Care Parcel, a social enterprise that provides free care packages, reliable information, and emotional support to people affected by cancer and those who care for them. The organisation also offers directories, educational resources, community engagement, and awareness campaigns to ensure no one feels alone after a diagnosis.

She also founded the Women in STEM Network, a global initiative building a supportive and inclusive professional space for women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Through international membership, ambassador programmes, events, and online resources, the network promotes visibility, career development, and community among women in technical fields.
