When I told the nun in school I wanted to be an artist when I grew up, she said "That is never going to happen. You can't make a living as an artist. Be a teacher". When I told my mother I was thinking about becoming a nun and joining Mother Theresa, she said, "Over my dead body!", refusing to accept that I might go and live in abject poverty. When I told my father I wanted to be an artist, he said, "I think you are a better writer."

From that mix of input I drew what has become a lifetime of exploring creative expression through visual art, writing, contemplation, teaching, and getting by on the income therefrom. In my books I explore the comedy and depth of this process through lives and cartoons I invent to keep me company and entertain.

What I love most about the creative process is unraveling it, that's why I lean toward mystery and what's beyond this lifetime in my books Gold Lame' and Time and the Mystic's Moksha Meter. In Enlightenmeant Cartoons,Now What? I explore creativity as personal development by making the book work like an oracle with exercises at the end to facilitate creative exploration through writing.

Life is a melting pot which I learned from the way mine has turned out thus far with input from a wide range of resources. My melting pot boileth over and I pour it out and share it in as many ways as I can.
