Vaughn Sherman

Boat operator in Alaska; fisheries biologist; CIA operations officer; community college trustee and national consultant; certified mediator; author. Vaughn Sherman has been there and done that, and with Patos Island Press there’s more to come. As co-owner and publisher of this boutique press located in Edmonds, Washington, Vaughn is managing the publication of two of his own books this year, and is involved with publication of another of his books by a different firm.

As if that weren’t enough, he mediates in a small claims court, is a mediator for divorced parents working with parenting plans, continues as a national consultant for community college trustees, and assists a local community college in foundation work.

Beyond that, Vaughn believes the truism that family comes first. He and Jan Lind-Sherman, an author and teacher, share the joy of having eight children, eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, many living in the Pacific Northwest and others spread from the southern United States to Alaska. Besides Edmonds, their gathering place is a simple beach home on the Strait of Georgia, close to the Canadian border. Boating, crabbing, beach walks and good food are shared
