Sharon M. Freeman Clevenger

Sharon M. Freeman Clevenger, MSN, MA PMHCNS-BC, CARN-AP is the CEO of the Indiana Center for Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Past Secretary/Treasurer of the International Association for Cognitive Psychotherapy, Past President of NAADAC The Association for Addiction Professionals and is an Associate Faculty, Indiana/Purdue University, Fort Wayne, Indiana. She is highly trained in as a lecturer and workshop leader in cogntive behavior therapy and psychopharmacology. She is also certified as an Advanced Practice Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist (PMHCNS-BC) with prescriptive authority, and certified as an Advanced Practice Certified Addiction Nurse (CARN-AP) through the International Society of Nurses on Addictions (IntSNA). Sharon has a Master of Arts in Psychology through the Adler School of Professional Psychology and Master of Science in Advanced Practice Psychiatric Nursing at the University of Pennsylvania. She is currently a Doctoral Candidate in Integrative Healthcare at Huntington College of Health Sciences in Knoxville, TN.

She has published numerous articles and book chapters under her maiden name Sharon Morgillo Freeman on the treatment of clients with personality disorders and has been a guest on the TV show The Doctors. She is the co-editor of both the therapist manual and patient handbook of Overcoming Depression: A Cognitive Behavior Approach (Oxford University Press, 2009), senior editor of Living and Surviving In Harm's Way: The Psychological Treatment Manual for Pre- and Post-Deployment of Military Members (Routledge, 2008), Senior Editor of Behind the Badge: A Psychological Treatment Handbook for Law Enforcement Officers (Routledge/Taylor and Francis, 2014) and senior editor and author of Cognitive Behavior Therapy in Nursing Practice (Springer Publishers, 2005).

She is married to Brig. Gen. (Ret) Richard H. Clevenger and resides in Indiana. They have four daughters, seven grandchildren, two cats and Honey the Therapy Dog. Website www dot iccbt dot org.
