Patsy Whittle

Patsy’s love of storytelling grew in a place where stories clicked, whirred, and sang to life. At the BC Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, Library Services Branch in Burnaby. She spent her days producing audiobooks for the CNIB and libraries across Canada. Her office was filled with the rhythmic clicking of old cassette machines testing final copies, the cheerful whistling and singing of professional BC actors choosing their next book to record, and giant storybook posters watching over the work. Each finished cassette tape became a bedtime treasure she shared with her three children at the end of the day, sparking questions, imagination, and connections. Today, Patsy writes her own gentle, read-aloud stories inspired by those magical years, stories filled with warmth, rhythm, and the belief that every child deserves to feel at home in the world of books.
