David Villorente

David Villorente is one of the foremost practitioners and ambassadors of graffiti culture in the world. His eleven-year tenure as the editor of the "Graf Flix" feature in The Source magazine helped solidify his role as a key authority within the global graffiti community. Villorente has co-authored a number of influential books on the topic, including; Mascots & Mugs (Testify Books), Piecebook, Piecebook Reloaded, World Piecebook (Prestel) and The ABC's of Style (Testify). As both artist and designer he has collaborated with prominent brands such as Nike, Redbull, Hennessey, NBA, Adidas, SNL, Mass Appeal, Reebok, Foot Locker, Brand Jordan, Revolt TV and FOX Sports. In his role as a curator, Villorente co-curated the critically acclaimed Write of Passage exhibit at Redbull Studios New York in 2013, in addition to co-curating, and producing the groundbreaking Beyond the Streets exhibitions. Beyond the Streets is the world’s largest graffiti and street art show in the world. Since its 2018 launch in Los Angeles, the exhibit has been showcased in New York, London and Shanghai. His firsthand knowledge of graffiti, and all its past, present and future players makes him an invaluable source on the subject. David currently resides in his native borough, beautiful Brooklyn, New York.
