Richard Leonard

Richard C. Leonard (born 1938) earned the Ph.D. in Biblical Studies from Boston University (1972). An ordained minister, he has served pastorates in New England and Illinois and taught at the college and graduate level. He also worked as a transportation data analyst with Rand McNally, from which he retired in 2001. He continues to fulfill occasional preaching assignments.

A writer from his youth, Dr. Leonard began authoring works for hire for Christian publishers in the early 1990s. Among other books he was "ghost writer" of "A Theological Miscellany" (Thomas Nelson, 2005). After producing titles in biblical theology under the Laudemont Press imprint, Dr. Leonard published three novels, the latest being "New America" (Lampstand, 2009).

His interests include building web sites, including Richard Leonard's Rail Archive. He is a composer of orchestral, choral, and solo music. Dr. Leonard also produces WestWard Quarterly, the poetry magazine edited by his late wife, Shirley Anne. He lives in northern Illinois and has six grown children, twenty-two grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
