Bobby O'Roark was blessed with the privilege of growing up in the great central valley of California, among the numerous verities of fruits, vegetables and agricultural industry; bordered on the east by the mighty Sierras and on the west by the Pacific Ocean. It is said that a person could live their entire life there and never have to get a job... they could live by sampling from the fields whatever happened to be in season, because something was growing in abundance year-round.
The days of Bobby's youth are described as carefree and filled with interesting experiences, of which he calls, "adventures."
His great passion now is to be surrounded by his children and grandchildren in front of the fireplace, on a cold winter evening, with big mugs of hot chocolate, sharing those adventures with wide-eyed, inquisitive children.
It was only at the encouragement of his wife and these children that he decided to write this book, THEY CALL ME BUBBINS; the first of many, so that these stories may be preserved for family and shared with all who enjoy an opportunity to step back a few years and see how things were through the eyes of one who experienced it and lived to tell about it.
Bobby has time to put his stories to pin and paper now that he is retired from his many years as a Professor at a local college. His next book, soon to be published, will cover adventures of the next decade following his High School years.
