Rev. Alfred Flatten

Hi, I’m Rev. Fred. Welcome to my Author page! I’m glad you’re here. I AM IN IT FOR LIFE! I have a passion to help others grow in their relationship with God and with others. This process is called “discipleship” and that is what I teach. I would love to speak/teach a seminar for your church leaders, board members, and teachers.

I was born and raised in Northern Wisconsin, about 80 miles from the Canadian border. Yes! It gets very cold there. At the young age of 32, I began to feel the call to ministry. One night at a local church dinner, my wife Judy and I sat at a table with our district superintendent. In the course of conversation, he said that he had a small church that needed someone to supply the pulpit until he could appoint a new pastor. My pastor suggested that I should do that. I agreed, and two Sundays later, my wife and I drove to that very small, country church. Little did we know I would continue to fill the pulpit of that church for thirteen years!

I have now been in the ministry for 35 years after also serving churches in Virginia and Maryland. I am currently retired…well, sort of. We moved back to Wisconsin in February of 2018. I began writing books about 10 years ago, and still enjoy speaking and teaching when I can. Judy passed away in 2021 and I have since remarried. I have three married boys and Crystal has three boys. We are the proud grandparents of 21 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. As I said, I am a published author and I have written 22 books which include:
