Robert Lehman, MD, has devoted his professional career to adolescent health care. As a physician, his practice has focused on teenagers in many different clinical situations, including schools, homeless clinics, university referral clinics and public health facilities. He has worked for many years as an advocate for youth on the local and national levels and has served several years on the Executive Committee for the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine. As a member of the clinical faculty at University of Washington, he has dedicated himself to teaching about adolescent health care needs to various health care professionals, parents, adolescents, and many other groups. For over 20 years he has also worked with colleagues in bringing numerous classes to the public to promote parent-child communication in sexuality and other issues of adolescence. In addition to bringing this amazing creation of a puberty book to life with Julie Metzger, he also dabbles as a screenwriter, with two scripts down and many more taking up space in his head to go.
