April Michelle Bratten

April Michelle Bratten was born in Marrero, Louisiana in 1982. She currently lives in North Dakota where she received a BA in English from Minot State University.

April's writing has appeared in journals such as Istanbul Literary Review, San Pedro River Review, Santa Fe Literary Review, Southeast Review, and many others. She has reached Finalist status in the Best of the Net competition and has also been nominated for the Pushcart Prize.

April's poetry chapbook, Raw Dogs and Other Metaphors, will be released in June 2012 from Maverick Duck Press.

Her first full length poetry collection will be released in 2013 with NeoPoiesis Press.
