CR HIATT writes action-oriented novels and screenplays featuring strong female characters, compelling mysteries, and high-stakes suspense.
The daughter of a Navy veteran, CR grew up in a small town where she became an All-American athlete. From an early age, she had a passion for adventure and a vivid imagination—two qualities that didn't always lend themselves to a traditional nine-to-five career.
Understanding the importance of building a secure future, she initially set aside her creative ambitions and pursued a career in the entertainment legal field. But the stories she imagined never quite went away. Eventually, she gave in to the urge to create adventures of her own.
Her writing journey began with interviews with big-city detectives and victims of the crimes they investigated. Those conversations introduced her to the disturbing realities of stalking and human trafficking, subjects she later explored in her six-book Katie Parker mystery and suspense series.
CR's storytelling has since expanded into multiple genres. Her published works include the espionage thriller Sanctioned Kill, the holiday novel Christmas at Pinecrest Falls, and her latest psychological thriller, Her Life Was Mine, a chilling story of obsession, identity, and manipulation. She is also the author of The Jake Adventures, a four-book children's fantasy adventure series.
When she isn't writing, CR enjoys renovating houses, riding e-bikes, exploring coastal communities with friends, and spending time outdoors with her Golden Retriever, Jake.
A proud supporter of the military and first responders, CR continues to draw inspiration from the courage, resilience, and determination of people who face extraordinary challenges.
