Joseph R Simpson

Joseph R. Simpson, Jr. received his undergraduate degree from Harvard University and his M.D. and Ph.D. from Washington University in St. Louis. He did his psychiatry residency at the University of California Los Angeles Neuropsychiatric Institute and West Los Angeles VA Medical Center and his forensic psychiatry fellowship at the University of Southern California.

Dr. Simpson is a supervising psychiatrist with the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services, working at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles, California. He is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Southern California. He is past president of the Southern California Psychiatric Society, a district branch of the American Psychiatric Association. He is also an active member of the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law and its current Newsletter Editor.
