Maurice D. Harris

I'm a writer, teacher, and rabbi living just outside of Philly. I was ordained in 2003 at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College in Philadelphia, and for the next 13 years I lived and worked in Eugene, OR, where for most of that time I worked as a congregational rabbi at Temple Beth Israel. Recently, I began working for Reconstructing Judaism, the central organization of the Reconstructionist movement of Judaism. I love exploring the possibilities of creative and progressive approaches to Judaism and religion in general. My first book was published in March 2012 - Moses: A Stranger Among Us. My second book, Leviticus: You Have No Idea, was published in August 2013.
