T. Michael Smith

T. Michael Smith loves to write, tell stories, play bocce ball and be with his four grandchildren. He is a natural at bocce ball and is often called a "ringer". He is one of the quirky folks in his book OLD and QUIRKY.

He grew up in Roanoke, Virginia, lived in the Raleigh Court neighborhood and was a drugstore cowboy in front of Garland’s Drugstore.

His education included: Jefferson Senior High School, Wiley N. Jackson Construction Company, Virginia Tech, and Columbia University. Economics and Math. He was Phi Beta Kappa and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

He had 7 licenses from the NASD and New York Stock Exchange.

Michael worked for Wheat, First Securities, J.C. Bradford & Co., and SunTrust Investment Services. He is a former Member of Governor’s Advisory Board on the Economy—Virginia.

He has lived in Richmond, Nashville, Washington (DC), and Miami, but T Mike's favorite is his home in the Roanoke Valley.
