Russell John Connor

I am the author of thirteen books and, unusually, these span both business and fiction.

I draw on over thirty years' experience of working and consulting for both national and multi-national organisations. Over this time, I have been fortunate to have worked in great companies that have been open to new ideas and prepared to invest in their people. As such, I have experienced a great deal of what can be described as leading edge ideas and best practice. However, it has to be said that unfortunately, on most occasions, these have turned out to be management fads, which have provided no lasting improvement!

Through sifting carefully through the sediment and detritus that fills the management space, I identify the ideas that have outshone and outlasted those peddled as the next big thing.

In creating a set of ideas that is more than simply a list I have been influenced by the thoughts and writing of existential philosophers. This might seem an odd source from which to draw a contribution to the world of management. However, as it happens, existential philosophy has a great deal to teach leaders and managers about the nature of uncertainty and the human factors that are critical to organisational success.

The existential themes also run through my works of fiction.

What else do I do? Well, I am a tennis fanatic and I dance Argentine Tango.

I live and work in Windsor, England.
